The Shovel Cave is a crucial area in Sons of the Forest that you will likely revisit frequently. It contains valuable items, including one of the game’s essential tools. But leaving the cave can be challenging. Our guide will help you exit Shovel Cave in Sons of the Forest.

To exit the Shovel Cave in Sons of the Forest, backtrack your way until you find a Sluggy monster will appear. There are grenades and C4 in the briefcases next to it that you can use to blow it up. This will clear the tunnel and create an exit.

Afterwards, run past the mutant babies and reach safety just a few meters away to finally exit the cave. If you forget an item and have to return to this location, and the item is past the sloping path where your character automatically slides, you’ll need to go all the way back to the corpse with the Shovel. The change in music will trigger the Sluggy to spawn in the earlier tunnel (it won’t appear before this point, even if you revisit the cavern).
