Resident Evil 4 Remake All Collectibles Tips

Most collectibles carry over to New Game Plus, except for Treasures Progress. You can’t choose chapters or roam freely after completing the story, but you can collect missing items in New Game Plus. To unlock treasure trophies, you must find all Treasures in a single playthrough. Some items are not accessible on the first visit and require key items obtained in later chapters.

To keep track of Resident Evil 4 Remake all collectibles, use the Challenges Menu > Feats. The world map in the bottom right corner shows Treasure Progress after purchasing the treasure map from the merchant. We recommend collecting everything as early as possible using this guide. As you progress through the story, some areas become inaccessible, so you may need to replay in New Game Plus to collect everything.

Castellans are small figurines that emit a sound when you’re near them, and there’s one per chapter. They count across multiple saves, so if you missed one, you can load an older save and collect it there. Treasures are marked on the map after buying the treasure map from the merchant. Some treasures require small keys or other key items, which you’ll need to backtrack to collect.

This guide outlines the necessary items required for each treasure. Merchant Requests are blue letters that usually appear near merchants and require you to complete small tasks, such as clearing rat infestations or shooting medallions. You can purchase weapons from the merchant, but you’ll also need to obtain the ones from New Game+ (Infinite Rocket Launcher for 2 Million ptas) and the Extra Content Shop (Chicago Sweeper & Handcannon), which requires beating the game on Professional difficulty with an A-rank and beating a New Game (not New Game+) on Professional without using Bonus Weapons.

Unlocking these Bonus Weapons is the most challenging task in the game, making acquiring all weapons the most challenging part of obtaining the Platinum Trophy & 1000 Gamerscore. You can sell weapons and treasures, and they’ll still count towards the trophy, as you only need to have owned each weapon and treasure once at any point across all playthroughs. Crafting Recipes and Weapon Parts can be purchased from the merchant, and while they aren’t needed for trophies, they count towards challenges that reward you with CP to buy items from the Extra Content Shop.

Files do not count as collectibles, nor do they count towards challenges or trophies. They aren’t necessary for anything and can be ignored. There’s no reward for finding all files.

During your quest to get Resident Evil 4 Remake all collectibles, If you die, you’ll need to recollect all items after the point of death, except for Castellans, which stay saved. We recommend keeping a manual save from the “completed” screen after each chapter. If you miss something, you can reload that save and replay the game from there without having to start from scratch.

The game has a semi-open and semi-linear layout. You play in three main areas: Village (Chapter 1-6), Castle (Chapter 7-12), and Island (Chapter 13-16). Once you advance to the next location, you cannot go back to the previous location during this playthrough. Certain side areas also become inaccessible as you progress through these areas, so they aren’t fully free-roam.

To avoid missing anything in a place that can’t be revisited, we recommend collecting everything as early as possible. If you see a treasure icon in an area that isn’t listed in the guide at that point, it means we need other key items and will backtrack there in a later chapter. You often need keys or other items found in later chapters to open locked drawers, shrines, and so on.

Owners of the Deluxe Edition with the “Treasure Map: Expansion” DLC will have some extra treasures spawning in the game, but those DLC treasures aren’t necessary for trophies and achievements. This guide is based on the Resident Evil 4 Remake all collectibles Standard version of the game without the DLC.
